Love Month. Day 8: Gold and Pink Valentines Mani.

I've had my DSLR camera for about 2 months now and I only just figured out how to use the live view function (so you don't have to look through the little viewfinder thing). Yep, took me 2 months to figure out how to turn it on. All I was doing wrong was that I didn't press the 'ok' button. Seriously?!

Anyway. Nevermind that. Today I have a short post to show you another Valentine's Day nail look. I really like this one.

My skin colour looks fairly alien-like in these photos... Please excuse that.

For this manicure I used China Glaze Something Sweet (baby pink), Loki's Lacquer Scrooged (glitter) and OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips (hot pink).

I really like the pink and gold colour combination right now!

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend. ♥

Rudolph Nail Art featuring B Squared Lacquer

I've been so busy lately, but I had to make some time to do some more Christmas nail art before the season is over. I have lots of ideas and lots of Christmastime polishes to use so I have to get a wriggle on!

Today I have a very quick & easy Christmas manicure to share with you, also featuring a new indie polish.

On all the nails except my ring finger, the base colour is Rimmel's Acid House which is one of the new-ish Kate Moss shades. It's a beautiful shimmery dark green.
Over the Rimmel shade I've used B Squared Lacquer's Glitzy which is a beautiful gold glitter! It has a whole bunch of different sizes and shapes of holographic gold glitter including stars. {I actually used one of the stars in this for the tree in my Christmas Cuties nail art.} I have more polishes from B Squared Lacquer to share with you very soon so keep your eye out for that! :D

For my little Rudolph, I used Rubi Taupe, Essence Red Ahead, China Glaze Winter Berry and Ulta3 Black Satin.

Let me know if you might be interested in a quick video tutorial for my Rudolph buddy. :) It's super easy but maybe somebody would like it.

I hope to show you the rest of the Christmas & New Years polishes from B Squared Lacquer before the end of this week! :) Stay tuned for that.

Birthday Cupcake Manicure ♥

Hi guys! Happy weekend. :) Hope you have a great one.

Yesterday it was my awesome friend, Danni's, birthday! :) We had a surprise party for her and I did some nail art especially for it.

This manicure was totally copied from just1nail from Instagram. {I know that a lot of lovely ladies all did similar manicures like this to celebrate a birthday, but I first saw it on just1nail.} If you don't follow her already, by the way, her nails are so cute and she does amazing designs!!

The polishes I used in this manicure are:
OPI Pink Friday
OPI You're Such a Budapest
OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips
OPI Princesses Rule
Essie Mint Candy Apple
Essie Bikini So Teeny
Sinful Colors Snow Me White
Essence Make It Golden

I have a tutorial {here} for the chevron/zig zag design if you are interested in how to do that. But that's not actually the technique I used this time, as I hadn't prepared any decals beforehand. This time, I did this:

1) painted my base colours & let them dry totally.
2) cut up some little strips of sticky tape with my pinking shear scissors into the zig zag shapes {the same way I did in the tutorial}.
3) applied the tape to my nail and made sure I stuck it down really, really well.
4) painted over the tape with white polish.
5) quickly peeled up the tape to reveal my zig zag design! :)

Hopefully that little faux-torial was easy to follow. Haha. If you'd like to see a quick video tutorial I would be happy to do that for you some time soon!

Thanks for visiting! ♥

Halloween Sprinkles Nail Art!

REMINDER: My blog sale is still live! I just added some new polishes to it yesterday, and reduced the prices on almost everything on there! There's still about 80 polishes available in the sale. :)

----------------------------

After recreating jauntyjuli's Halloween Cupcake manicure the other day, I really wanted to do some more Halloween nail art. I'm not into anything gory or creepy though, so I still wanted to keep it cutesy.

I find it quite hard to come up with my own designs for nail art and usually end up doing recreations of other manicures I've seen online, but this design I didn't recreate! I came up with it on my own. :D I was quite proud of that, even though it's a fairly basic design haha.

I've seen sprinkle/icecream manicures many times before - but never a Halloween icecream/sprinkle manicure! :D

For this design I used:
Sinful Colors Black on Black
Essie Fear or Desire
Born Pretty Store Glow in the Dark polish #03 {layered over 1 coat of white}
Essie Play Date
Femme Fatale Cosmetics Tricky Treat {discontinued - sorry!}

On my right hand I used the same colours, but mixed up the design.
On the black nails I did a polka dot design, kept the glitter on the ring finger the same, and stamped on my pointer and middle finger with Winstonia plate W116. I haven't stamped in a while so it's pretty rusty but it'll do, hehe.

This is by far the craziest nails I have worn... maybe ever! Yes, I did leave the house wearing these nails. :| Most of the time when I do nail art that's not subtle, it's just for fun and I don't actually wear it as a manicure. Buuuut, these I did.

Hope you enjoyed. Thanks for visiting ♥

Halloween Cupcakes {Inspired by jauntyjuli}

It's almost Halloween and I haven't done any nail art in forever, so I decided I'd do some Halloween nail art!

We don't really celebrate Halloween here, as I've said before; but I still wanted to do some festive nail art.
Halloween is becoming more and more popular here every year, though. Mainly for children who want an excuse to get chocolate & dress up, and teenagers {and probably some adults as well} who probably want to have a party & dress up too. LOL.
I've never actually celebrated Halloween myself. Some of the food and decorations that come out in the shops are pretty cute, though! :D

I saw {this freakin' adorable design} by JauntyJuli on YouTube and I knew right away I had to recreate it because it's the cutest Halloween nail art I have seen by far! Halloween Cupcakes! My version is nowhere near as good as her's but I still think it is so cute. ♥

I used so many polishes for this design so I won't list them here, but if you do want to know what a certain colour is, just leave a comment.

Thanks for visiting ♥ If you have any {easy} nail art requests, please leave me a comment! I'm not good at coming up with designs. I get inspired by a lot of things I see, but don't know how to execute it on my nails. So suggestions/requests would be lovely. :)

Watercolour Flowers {Inspired By @hannvjk}

Hi guys! Sorry I have had a whole lot of reviews on my blog lately, and not a whole lot of NOTDs or informational posts which I really enjoy putting together, I just haven't had a lot of time for that. I still have a lot of awesome stuff to show you which I'm really excited about. :D But for today I have some nail art I did just for fun to share with you. :)

Lately I've been finding a lot of new girls to follow on Instagram and I've found some absolute gems! :) One of them is @hannvjk! I love many of her nail designs, but I especially fell in love with this gorgeous watercolour flower design and thought I would try to recreate it because she did a tutorial for it! :D You can check out her tutorial here.

Polishes I used:
Sinful Colors White On White (white base)
Ulta3 Fruit Tingle (pink)
Ulta3 Tahiti (neon red)
Ulta3 Atomic OJ (orangey yellow)
Ulta3 Acapulco Bliss (dark magenta)
Rubi Violets Are Blue (purple)
BC Co. Shade 16 (green - not that you can see it in my photos lol)
Milani Jewel FX Gold (gold glitter)

So, her design turned out like 28429348x better than mine so don't hate. ;) I wish I'd had a brighter purple to use! I realised I don't own any bright/neon purple polishes. I must change that, huh?! ;P

Also, please excuse the redness around my cuticle area in my photos. That always seems to happen when my hands are cold. o_O

This design was pretty easy to do! :) Definitely check out @hannvjk on Instagram and follow her because her designs are so pretty. I give her all the credit for this design, I could never come up with such a cute mani on my own haha!

Thanks for visiting ♥

ANMonday: Pets

Hi there! Hope you all had a nice and relaxing or fun weekend, depending on what you like to get up to haha. :)
Today's ANMonday theme is Pets! :) I have only had one pet in my life, a cat named Sooty, so I decided to do a cat mani! :D (More about my cat later in the post for those interested!)

The base colour I have used is OPI's Can't Find My Czechbook. A really pretty blue creme from OPI's Spring '13 collection. I used 2 coats but it was a little streaky, not sure if it's visible in my photos at all. I think that may have had to do with the brush from the mini bottle, however.
For the nail art I used black & white polish, as well as OPI's Red Lights Ahead, Where? for the heart, and OPI's Pink Friday for the kitty noses. For the grey part on the kitty's ears I mixed some black and white polish.

I'm actually quite proud of this nail art! Although it's quite simple, it was all free-hand and I'm not very good at freehand nail art haha.

I don't often share much personal stuff on my blog but I thought it would be nice to show you a few photos of my kitty, Sooty. :) I have had him for almost 12 years now! He was a teeny little scared kitten when I got him, and he didn't really like me or my family for a while LOL. Only in the last two years or so has he actually let me pat him! And now he likes to sit next to me while I'm on the computer and have his head scratched. If I stop scratching his head, he'll put his front paws up on my chair or leg and then jump up on the desk so I'll scratch his head some more, LOL. ♥ :)

Here is Sooty up on my desk. :D
^ This one's an older photo but eep his face. So cute. ^_^

Hope you enjoyed those bonus kitty photos haha. :) I love my Sooty. I also love dogs, though, so someday I want one too! I only like smaller dogs, though. I've always been scared of big dogs haha.

Do you have any pets?! :) Please tell me about them! I think it's so fun to discuss everyone's pets! :D

Thanks for visiting as usual! ♥

Studded Pink & Gold Leopard

This manicure I'm showing you today is definitely a bit out of my comfort zone, but I've been wearing a lot of manis like that lately! I usually do not wear anything this 'out there' and blingy. Haha. But I really enjoyed it nonetheless. :)

For this manicure I used OPI's Mod About You, one of my favourite baby pinks. This one has a bit more of a purple undertone than other pinks I own, though. I used Alanna Renee's Golden Snitch for the leopard spots and for the base on the accent nail. On the accent nail over Golden Snitch I used Femme Fatale Cosmetics Eventide. I also used a black nail art pen for the leopard print.

On my middle finger, I made a line down the middle of the nail with some gold studs that I purchased from Born Pretty Store. At first I had applied top coat to my nail, and then stuck the studs on while it was still wet. About an hour later I had lost 2 studs and was about to go to bed (and knew the rest would fall off during the night) so I pulled them off and re-stuck them on with some nail glue. That was much more effective and they were actually hard to remove haha.

I've seen a lot of manicures all over the internet featuring studs and leopard print (mostly with nude colours instead of pink, though) so that's what inspired me to do this manicure. :) I don't use studs often - or any other 3D accessories for that matter - so I thought I should pull them out.

Thanks for visiting! Hope you like this mani ♥

ANMonday: Disney ♥

Hi guys! Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. I'm so happy to be doing another ANMonday finally! I don't think I've participated in about a month!

Today's theme is Disney. I decided to do each nail inspired by some of my all-time-fave Disney movies!

On my pointer we have Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc. / Monsters University! I just love love love those movies. Adorable. :) - Please excuse the way the green polish stained my cuticle lol. Ick.
For Mike I used: Sinful Colors Innocent, Sinful Colors Snow Me White, a BYS black striper and Ulta3 Pro Sky Blue.

My middle finger is meant to represent Andy's bedroom walls in Toy Story. Of all the Toy Story movies, though, I'd have to say the 2nd and 3rd ones are my favourites.
For this nail I used: Ulta3 Pro Sky Blue and Sinful Colors Snow Me White.

My ring finger is to represent 101 Dalmatians! This was definitely one of my favourite movies when I was little. :)
For this nail I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White, a black nail art pen, OPI Big Apple Red and a gold nail art pen.

My pinky was a bit of a fail unfortunately. :( And that's sad because this finger was supposed to represent The Princess Diaries, which is easily one of my favourite movies in general of all time, not just one of my fave Disney movies. I have easily seen it 100 times. No exaggeration. I tried using a BundleMonster stamp of a crown for this nail but it just did NOT want to work... so I tried to freehand it. :| I don't think it even looks like a crown lol. Ah well...
For this nail I used Ulta3 Soft Hydrangea and a white nail art pen, with a little rhinestone.

And on my thumb, I've tried to do a Mickey Mouse nail... :P It looks funny, don't judge.
I used OPI Big Apple Red, a black nail art pen and Sinful Colors Snow Me White for my Mickey nail.

I had a lot of fun creating this design! :D I hope you guys like it too. Thanks for visiting! ♥
