Bridal Nail Idea #2 {ft. Nailz Craze Stamping Plate NC 04}

Hi guys! I have my second bridal nail idea to share with you today! If you didn't see my first one, you can check that out here.

I was provided with a few stamping plates from the lovely Natalie from Nailz Craze a few weeks ago, and it's taken me a while to get around to completing my reviews which is quite pathetic on my part, so sorry about that, but I did show you one of the plates last month here.

Today I've used plate NC 04 to create this bridal nail art. I chose this plate specifically for the cute diamond ring image! So cute! I thought this plate would be absolutely perfect for some cute bridal nail art. It would also be cute for Valentines Day, which is less than a month away!

The polishes I used for this manicure were OPI I Theodora You {one of my absolute favourite pinks. It's a jelly but builds up pretty much opaque in three coats, which is what I did} and It's Frosty Outside, which I talked more about here.

I stamped the images using China Glaze Devotion, from the Romantique collection. It's a metallic chrome, and it's technically a purple colour but it almost looks silver to me. The whole Romantique collection is amazing for stamping.
Along with this I used my favourite Winstonia XL squishy stamper and scraper to stamp with.

So far I have found that the Nailz Craze plates are amazing quality, and actually work better than some more well-known brand plates that I have tried! I find I get a much crisper image with Nailz Craze. Even the images with large areas are amazing!

I'm not sure that I would actually wear this on my nails for my wedding day... It's more of a novelty for me. It would be fun to wear for something like an engagement party, or maybe a bridal shower or hens party, however!

What do you guys think? :)

OPI It's Frosty Outside

I thought for my first official post in 2014 {and under a new name} I'd show you the manicure I wore for New Year's.

I didn't do any nail art and opted for something easy and quick for my nails as I was in a bit of a rush. But I was super happy with what I chose.

OPI's It's Frosty Outside is a frosty silver textured polish. When it dries, though, it sort of loses the frosty effect and just looks ultra glittery. This polish is from OPI's Mariah Carey Holiday '13 collection, which was full of awesome shades, by the way!

{ Note: Aussie girls - I saw the OPI Holiday sets on sale at David Jones last week for 30% off! Definitely check your DJ's to see if they still have them if you're after any of this collection. }

I thought this polish would be absolutely perfect for New Year's. It's really sparkly and fun. The formula was great. Opaque in two coats, and dried very fast. I love that about the OPI Liquid Sands.

Sorry that my photos for this post aren't the best. I only took a few. And for some reason, on my computer, the quality looks awful. Let me know how they look on your screen. I know that the lens I'm using on my camera at the moment isn't great for nail photography. I'm looking into possibly getting a macro lens some time this year.

High Tea Manicure ♥

Hi guys! It's finally Spring! :D I'm so excited! The weather today is supposed to be 27 degrees (C) today! WHAT. Haha. Very strange for the first day of Spring but I'm happy because I miss the sunshine.

Yesterday I went to a high tea party for one of my besties' 21st birthday and I really liked my nails so I decided I'd show you!
These photos are taken on my phone, because I waited too late to take photos of my nails and my normal camera can't take focused photos when the sun is going down. :(

Also, my nails are rounded again. I broke a nail very far down on Thursday, and had to round that nail off. I can't stand having my nails different shapes or different lengths, so I ended up rounding them all off.
(Many of the posts you'll be seeing in the next week or two, were done before I broke my nail so you'll still see my square nails for a while!)

I did a fairly simple manicure. The pink I used is OPI I Theodora You, which was from the Oz collection earlier this year. This is definitely one of my favourite baby pink/neutral jelly colours. It's pretty subtle and nice. The glitter I used is OPI Crown Me Already which is another favourite of mine! I love this glitter. I need to not use it so much though because I love it so much and it's a little hard to find. :( And if you can, it's kind of expensive. I'm glad I was able to get it around my birthday so I didn't feel bad spending more money on it than I usually would on polish haha.

I really love this dress I wore to the party! It's a mint-y green colour. It's a little short though so I can only wear it with tights/leggings underneath :(

Hope you guys enjoyed this post & are having an awesome weekend. ♥

Fun Stamped Gradient + OPI Crown Me Already

I really need to come up with better post titles lol...

Hi guys! I've been saying recently that I've wanted to get more into nail art. I haven't had a lot of time or inspiration for it in the past week or so, but I sat down a couple of weeks ago, and decided to do some nail art while I caught up on Big Brother! :D I'm really into Big Brother this year but I'm soooo behind and have to catch up! Let me know if you're watching it too! :)
I did these nails a bit over a week ago but didn't really have a time to post them on the blog till today. :( I am itching to show you this because I really love it!

Anyway. My favourite type of nail art to do would have to be gradients or stamping. (So I've done a mani featuring both of those!) I can't often be bothered with gradients though, as they are quite messy and I don't want to deal with the clean up process! :P Stamping is also messy (mostly the workspace, though).

For my gradient I used a bubblegum pink colour from the Kmart BC Co brand, Shade 14, OPI Do You Lilac It, and Orly Frisky.
For the stamping I used this plate (QA66) from Born Pretty Store with their black stamping polish (which I LOVE). The plate was fairly good quality in my opinion. The image is kind of these triangle-y shapes. Haha. My stamping skills still aren't so great but I don't practice much so that's my fault I suppose. ;) I'm not good at placing the image lol.
I actually wasn't going to stamp over the gradient, but the gradient came out a bit weird-looking so I decided I needed to cover it up a little.

Lastly, on my ring finger I used OPI Crown Me Already, one of my all time favourite glitters! :D I only needed 2 coats of it, it's such a dense glitter! ♥
I actually lost some of this polish when I was staying at my auntie's house a while back. I had it packed with some other polishes and it leaked. :( Not too much, thankfully!

This time I tried a different method of cleaning up the cuticles for the gradient part, because it is so messy. I used some PVA glue! I've been using PVA glue for a while now as an easy removal method for glitter nail polish. (I recommend you read this post by Pretty Purple Polish about that!) But I recently read that you can use it for clean up also!
So we all remember in primary school when we used to paint PVA glue on our hands and then peel it off, right? It's the same thing! I just painted a generous amount of PVA glue all around my cuticles and skin surrounding my nail (making sure not to go too close to the cuticles - and don't get any on the nail!). Then I used a hair dryer on the low & cold setting and blew it on my nails for a little bit to dry the glue faster because I'm impatient (and it was late at night - ain't nobody got time fo' that). :) When that was totally dry I did my gradient as usual. Once I was finished with the gradient I just peeled off the dry glue and cleaned up whatever was left (which wasn't much) with my acetone + little makeup brush! :) Soooo much easier than trying to clean it up with a million cotton buds!

I feel like I've done a gradient in these exact same colours before with a glitter on the ring finger. For some reason, this is just the colours I always pick up when I want to do a gradient.
Do you guys have any colour suggestions for my next gradient? I need to get out of my pink to purple to blue gradient rut haha.

Thanks for visiting! ♥

Shades of Phoenix Beware of the Dark Arts Collection Swatches + Video

Hi guys! Today I have a new collection from Shades of Phoenix to show you! I'm so so excited about this collection! It's called the Beware of the Dark Arts collection, and it is inspired by Harry Potter! The Harry Potter books & movies are some of my all-time faves. When I was 9-10 I was obsessed with Harry Potter and remember watching the first movie a L.O.T that year.
These polishes are all beautiful sparkly glitter polishes in a dark base, and they're all named after spells that have been used in a form of "Defence Against the Dark Arts". Very vampy colours and super nice for winter especially.

This will be pic heavy so the rest of this review is after the jump!

ANMonday - Sci Fi

Hi guys! I hope you had a lovely weekend! I had a pretty good one despite getting sick halfway through! My family has had a yucky cold recently and I've just caught it too. :(

So for this theme I actually had to look up what was classified as sci fi. LOL. A little embarrassing but whatever. IMDB told me that superhero movies are considered sci fi. And superhero movies are my favourite movies sooo it's no surprise that that's what I did! Actually, a lot of movies that I would've considered to be more 'action' movies are supposedly 'sci fi', so that's interesting.

Last week the Man of Steel movie came out and I am soooo excited to see it! I'll probably see it this weekend. :) So of course for today's ANMonday I did Superman nails!

I did a gradient of Pretty Serious Santa's Sunburn (the most incredible red shimmer EVER!) and Pretty Serious BSOD for the base, and then stamped with plate FUN2 and a silver stamping polish. I got the plate and polish from My Online Shop. The stamping is definitely NOT perfect, LOL, but I'm sick and wanted to get the mani finished before the sun went down sooo that's my excuse.

Excuse any sparkles you may see around my skin. The gradient was sooo hard to clean up!

Have you seen/are you excited to see Man of Steel?! I heard that it's quite long... but I hope I still like it. :) I've heard it's great otherwise! And what is your favourite sci fi movie?

Glam Polish Glitter Toppers Review

Hi guys! I have some more Glam Polish swatches to share with you today! :) These are all new glitter toppers so they're all in a clear base.

Big Bang Theory
Big Bang Theory is a mix of ALL CIRCLE GLITTERS. :D Circle glitters are just so awesome. There's pink, blue, green, yellow, silver (and probably more colours) circle glitters plus some silver micro glitter. Some of the glitters are holographic too. I was super excited about this polish because I love the Big Bang Theory TV show! :D (Fun fact: when this polish came in the mail I was wearing a Big Bang Theory tshirt!)
I layered 1 coat of Big Bang Theory over Sally Hansen Pacific Blue. It was a little hard to apply, since the circle glitters all wanted to clump together but nothing a little placement and moving the glitters around can't fix. :) The sun only came out long enough for me to snap ONE picture of this in the sun (above) so apologies if it's not a great photo haha.

Lost Your Marbles?
Lost Your Marbles is larger and medium holographic silver circle glitters with silver holographic micro glitter also! This would look good over any colour but I love pairing silver glitters like this with delicate colours.
I layered one dabbed coat of Lost Your Marbles over OPI I Theodora You (plus top coat). I absolutely LOVE this combo! I shall be wearing it again soon! ;)

Sexy and I Know It
Sexy and I Know It (I work out! :P) is a little similar to Big Bang Theory, it has lots of multicoloured dot glitters and there's also some stars, hearts and diamonds in this one too! This one also has a gold micro glitter. Love it!
I layered 1 coat of Sexy and I Know It over OPI Can't Find My Czechbook (plus top coat). The glitters (in particular the stars) did tend to feel a bit bumpy on the nail, depending on where they were placed on the nail but that's nothing an extra coat of top coat wouldn't have helped.

Vegas Baby
Vegas Baby is an awesome mix of neon glitters as well as white and black in all different shapes and sizes! Glam Polish does neon glitters soo well in my opinion!
I've layered 1 coat of Vegas Baby over Lime Crime Parfait Day (plus top coat). Love this combo too :D This would also look great over a white or white-ish colour. :)
Sorry I don't have any sun photos of this polish, since it's now winter here the sun is always gone. :(

I love Glam Polish as you probably know and these are some of my fave polishes from them I've tried! :) They're all so versatile and could be worn over almost any polish!

Have a great weekend everyone! ♥ (And for most of us in Aus, it's a long weekend, WOOHOO).

ANMonday - Heart

Hey ladies!
Today I'm back with another AN Monday post. Today's theme is heart.
I'm gonna be honest. The reason I chose "heart" as the theme for today is because it was my 6 year anniversary with my boyfriend on Saturday and I was going to incorporate a heart into my mani for Saturday anyway so I knew I'd be able to use that mani for AN Monday! ;) lol!

By the way, I'm so sorry but I only have iPhone photos of this mani to show you. :( We went out all day and by the time we got home it was dark outside so I couldn't take any 'real' photos. Also, my cuticles may look a bit dry in some of the photos because I snapped them as I was running out the door. Sorry! :(
On my thumb, pointer and pinky I've used Shades of Phoenix Aphrodite which is a gorgeous deep pink with holographic square glitters and a ton of holographic shimmer/glitter too. Sooooo beautiful and sparkly.

On my middle finger I've used Sally Hansen Celeb City as my base colour and then the heart is Zoya Blaze which I think goes with the SoP polish sooo well.

Lastly on my ring finger I've used OPI Stay the Night. I love using textures in mix and match/skittlette manicures!

Face of Australia Heart of Glass Skitlette

Hey ladies! I have a "Skitlette" from last weekend to show you!

But before I do, have you checked out my giveaway yet?! :) I'm so excited because it's my first ever giveaway! :D

I used one of my new Face of Australia glitter polishes I found on sale at Kmart for 75 cents each (they had a $4 off sale!) CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?! Thanks hanick7101 on Instagram for posting about it! :) (By the way, you should follow her if you aren't already, her nail art rocks!)
I bought 5 from the collection so I'm sure you'll be seeing the rest soon. There's 8 in the collection all together but the other 3 weren't really my style.
(I went back to the Kmart I bought mine from, 3 days later and they were completely sold out lol! I guess everybody jumped on it!)
On my pointer & pinky is the new FOA polish, Heart of Glass. It's a pale pink jelly base with purple, silver and red glitters. It even has some really cute red hearts in it - which were ridiculously hard to get on the nail! :( I got one on each of my pointer fingers but it took a LOT of effort.
It was a little hard to apply. It was quite thick and definitely required some dabbing to get a good amount of glitters on the nail. I used 3 coats.

On my middle nail I used China Glaze Glistening Snow, and OPI Cajun Shrimp on my ring and thumb to accent the red glitter in Heart Of Glass. But now I'm thinking I should've used a purple instead...
I then added a stud to the cuticle on my middle & ring fingers. I actually had to reapply the studs before I took my photos because they fell off. :(
Sorry this post is lacking in photos. I wasn't having luck with lighting etc when trying to photograph this and by the time I got to photograph it, I'd been wearing it for a day and was impatient and ready to remove it haha.

Cinderella - Disney Princess Nail Art Challenge

Hi guys! Today I have the next princess in the Disney Princess Nail Art Challenge. I skipped the past two weeks because I was a bit unorganised and didn't plan ahead like I usually do for challenges, and then found that I didn't have enough time for them. :(
But I made sure to plan ahead for this one because I love Cinderella, which is today's princess! :) I think Cinderella was my favourite princess when I was little.
For my Cinderella nails I've gone with a blue, silver and white theme. :)
On my pointer, middle & pinky I've used a base of Ulta3 Soft Hydrangea, which is a light blue with a really subtle silver shimmer. I stamped over it with BundleMonster plate BM310 using Sinful Colors Snow Me White.
On my thumb and ring finger I've used Essie Borrowed & Blue as my base, and then used OPI Crown Me Already for the glitter gradient.
Since Cinderella is/was my favourite princess - who's your favourite? :)
Check out these lovely ladies' Princess manis today! ♥
Have a great weekend, everyone ♥
