5. China Glaze For Audrey + OPI Crown Me Already
6. Covergirl Lav-endure + China Glaze I'm Not Lion
7. Femme Fatale Crimson Acolyte
8. Lush Lacquer Mr Bubble over China Glaze Secret Peri-wink-le and Tart-y For The Party

This month my favourite brand of polishes has probably been Covergirl. This month I discovered their new Outlast Stay Brilliant polishes. I believe they were released here around the start of the month or end of March perhaps. I picked up 6 of them over a week and a half because they were on sale at Priceline and Target! :D I love the formula on them and there's some seriously awesome colours. They even have a dead on dupe for OPI On Her Majesty's Secret Service! I also love that they come in square bottles which store really well. I definitely recommend you try them! :) I think most nail junkies wouldn't consider the colours they have "unique" but I surprisingly don't have any dupes for the ones that I bought! :)
I have a video review and haul for these polishes coming soon on my YouTube channel so stay tuned for that!

This month I've been LOVING using PVA glue as my base coat for glitters. You might be thinking I'm crazy if you haven't heard of using PVA as a base coat but it's awesome! It allows you to just easily peel off your polish! No mess removing all that glitter!
It started when Essence released a 'peel off base coat' in their Ready for Boarding collection and some smart chickies figured that it was basically just PVA glue! I think they marketed it as something you can take with you when you go away on a holiday so that you don't need to bring polish remover with you or something like that, which would be very handy. You can use it with creme polishes, but most of us prefer to use it with glitter polishes.
I used PVA under every glitter mani I wore this month but I definitely have to keep in mind from now on that I need to use a regular base coat between the PVA and my nail colour because my nails got really stained a few times! And I very rarely get staining so the PVA definitely does not protect against staining.. It's almost like it brings on staining if that's possible haha.
If you want more info check out these great posts by Michelle from LabMuffin (here and here)and Alanna from PrettyPurplePolish (here and here). I haven't worn the polish for more than a day when I used the peel off base coat but as you can see in Alanna's post, it can last a long time! I don't think I'll ever have to do the foil method again! Haha.

This month I got back into a few shows I like! Including Friends and Secret Life of the American Teenager. Secret Life can be a really lame show at times (ok, all the time), but for some reason I love it! I've also been watching Pretty Little Liars a bit. I'm still really behind with it haha.
This month I discovered Kaitlin / The Daily Polish (or @kaitlinferland on Instagram). I don't even know how it took me so long to find her, she's super popular on Instagram, with over 103k followers! Her nails are absolutely perfectly shaped and she does some really beautiful designs.

I've also been loving Kirsten / Glitta Gloves. I'm just obsessed with her cute nubs. :) ♥

My favourite YouTuber of the month isn't someone I've only found recently, but my favourite YouTuber of April is Yukie or warmvanillasugar0823! :) I absolutely love her videos! Especially of the nail polish kind. ;) I love her polish collection reviews! She just uploaded her OPI Bond Girls swatch and review video a few days ago. Pictured is one of her swatches of the Bond Girl polishes!

I am loving the glue too! I use it for all my manicures and if I soak my nails under water and peel them there, the designs stay intact and now I am saving my designs in a little book.
ReplyDeleteI like your Candy gradient mani best! But,g osh, it's really hard to pick my own favourite polish or mani from the month - I'm just looking through my posts for April and there are so many I really liked......... I guess it has to be a tie between Enchanted Octopus's Garden and Darling Diva Dirty Deeds...but Darling Diva Serendipity was gorgeous too, lol!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea of monthly favourites though, I think I'm going to start doing it too - it's a great idea to look back on the month and summarise the good and bad!
I love your CG gradient :) Happy to be your newest follower!

Why did I not read your post about CoverGirl polish before I bought the one that is the dupe for On Her Majesty's Secret Service before I bought it?!! You are right, dead on dupe. Oh well, I guess I've got a back up of the opi now for a fifth of the cost! :)
