Palate Cleanser: French Manicure

After wearing and swatching a lot of colours, I often just want to wear something plain and classic. I saw this post by Sophie @ My Awesome Beauty and it had me really wanting to do a French manicure on myself! I think the last time I had a French manicure on my nails would have been when I used to wear acrylics, so almost 2 years ago!

I know a lot of people don't like French manicures but I've always thought that they look classic and pretty. Not something I'd wear all the time of course because I love my polish colours too much. ;)

Just to make sure everyone isn't confused - my nails are round at the moment as you may have seen on my Instagram, or in my last post. This post (and a few posts coming up) were all done before my nail broke and I had to round them off.

For my mani I used the French Pink and French White polishes by Manicare which I was given in a gift set for Christmas last year. Both polishes were a nice consistency. The pink was a little streaky as expected but not too bad, and the white was opaque enough that I didn't have to go back and do a second coat for the white tips. Which is helpful because you don't want your tips to be super thick and never dry! I topped it off with my favourite top coat, Seche Vite.

Here's what it looked like on my right hand! Not great up close but from far away it looks okay. ;)

So, what do you think of the French manicure? :) Do you love it, or not so much?

Thanks for visiting! ♥
