Hi friends! How are we all?!
Today was my 21st birthday, and as you may have read a few times over this month on my blog, turning 21 doesn't really mean much here. The legal drinking age is 18 (which is what I think most people get excited about when they turn 21 in other places) and there's really nothing else I can think of, that happens when you turn 21 in Australia!
However, this birthday is significant, I guess! It's my last one as a "single" girl! (I don't really like saying that because I technically don't think of myself as "single" haha.)
So, for my birthday I thought I would share an old picture of myself. Here's a picture of me on my 12th birthday. (Look at those coooool earrings... and dat hair! ;))
I had a pretty awesome birthday. I woke up to some really lovely texts and Facebook messages from friends and family ♥, then my mum and I went out for lunch and shopping! I went fairly crazy in the shops, which I really never do, but I justified it for my birthday. ;) I bought lots of polish (of course!), makeup and clothes. Then we went out for dinner with my family which was nice!
I got some really lovely gifts as well. I am so thankful for my lovely family & friends. ♥ My parents bought me a new lens for my camera which I am so stoked about! It's a Canon 50mm f/1.8 and while it's not the best for taking nail photos (because I'd have to hold my arm way too far out for it to focus on my nails), I really wanted it for it's low aperture (sorry to those who don't care about cameras, you're probably super confused & bored haha) so that I get get a shallower depth of field in my shots. It will also let more light in and make it easier to take photos in lower lighting situations, which always seems to be a problem for me.
I may put up a post next week showing a few of my birthday gifts and things I bought with gift vouchers if anyone would be interested in seeing that. :)
Thank you to everyone who sent me lovely birthday wishes on Instagram or Twitter. I love you guys! ♥ I felt really loved and blessed today.
I also want to apologise for neglecting my blog a little over the past week or two. I know I've said it a few times now but I got so busy all of a sudden. I haven't even painted my nails in over a week, can you believe that?! :(
