Love Month. Day 6: Glam Polish Fantasy Trio: Mei Mei's Signatures Exclusive.

I have a new trio by Glam Polish to share with you today. This is the Fantasy Trio, and it is exclusive to Mei Mei's Signatures (one of Glam Polish's overseas stockists).

The trio features two light-coloured creamy glitters, and one dark jelly glitter.

Out of this World is a light blue/grey base with pink, silver and turquoise glitters. A little sheer on the first coat, but the second built up nicely. I definitely feel like my collection is lacking these blue-grey colours so this one is a nice addition to my stash.

She is Elusive is a super dark purple jelly with a fine gold flake glitter and also some very small holographic glitter. This one is also a little sheer on the first coat, but the second coat builds it up. I love this so much! It's flippin' beautiful!

Unreachable has black, white, pink and gold small glitters, plus a gold shimmer, in a pink toned nude base. Lovely to apply, and opaque in two coats. It kind of reminds me of cookies & cream, haha.

This trio is now available from Mei Mei's Signatures here (at the time of writing, the trio is out of stock but should be back in stock soon). You can also buy them separately if you don't want all three.

Beachy.

Hi there! Hope all my fellow Aussies are staying cool at the moment. It's gotten pretty hot again here in SA.

I have a quick post about some fun beachy nail art to share with you guys today! Perfect for the super hot week we're having. I wish I were at the beach.

I added some cute shells from Born Pretty Store to this beachy coloured gradient. These little shells come in a pack of 20 and you can choose between silver/gold, and 3mm/5mm for $2.78.
I placed the shells onto the nail when my polish was still a bit tacky, and then topped the nail off with a layer of top coat.

Polishes usedGlints of Glinda by OPI, Once in a Blue Moon by Face of Australia & My Favourite Ornament by OPI.

Born Pretty also sell super cute accessories, like this bright turquoise coloured rubber watch! These watches only cost $5.99 and come in 9 fun colours.

You can get 10% off your Born Pretty order using the code CAL91. They do free worldwide shipping all the time.

Cyrene Lovette Lacquers {Swatches & Review}

Cyrene Lovette Lacquers is a new indie brand in the US, being manufactured by The Juice Box Lacquer. I have 6 polishes from their line to show you.

Cyrene is a coral red. The formula on this colour was quite thick which threw me off a bit but it wasn't so bad. I would probably add a couple drops of thinner before I use it again, though. Thankfully it dried pretty fast. It also dried to a satin-y finish.
I used 2 coats + 1 coat of top coat.

Grace is a vibrant {but deep - is that possible?} purple jelly. As it's a jelly formula, it was quite sheer on the first coat but the second one built up nicely. The formula on this one was nice, it was a bit thick still but not as thick as Cyrene.
I used 2 coats + 1 coat of top coat.

Jewel is a cobalt blue jelly. The formula on this was pretty much the same as Grace.
I used 2 coats + 1 coat of top coat.

June is a yellow toned nude jelly. Again, the formula was pretty much the same as Jewel and Grace.
I used 2 coats + 1 coat of top coat.

Lovette is a standard black. It had a similar formula to the other jellies, but a bit thicker. It was pretty much opaque in one coat, so that's all I did! {Under the bright lights it might look a bit patchy but in normal daylight, it looked opaque.
{This was so shiny I could actually see my reflection in it, haha!}
I used 1 coat + 1 coat of top coat.

Taja is an olive green with gold shimmers. This one was similar in formula to Cyrene. It's pretty thick, but that makes it basically opaque in one coat. But for me, I wouldn't wear this again without putting some thinner in it. But it is a really pretty colour!
I used 1 coat + 1 coat of top coat.

These polishes are all available to pre-order from the CLL website. They are offering worldwide shipping {excluding Italy}.

OPI 'Glints of Glinda'

I have a quick swatch of an OPI polish that came out earlier this year to show you today. I usually don't really blog about my NOTDs when it's just one colour {usually I'll just Instagram them} but I was testing out my new light box and thought I'd share this one with you.
The photos and lighting are far from perfect so please bear with me while I figure it out.

This is Glints of Glinda, from the Oz: The Great & Powerful collection, which was OPI's Soft Shades collection for this year.
Glints of Glinda is a nude with a jelly finish. It's a sort of tan / beige toned nude. It's pretty unique to me, actually. Most nudes like this would have a more pink or white tone.
I think this colour looked a little weird on me; it kind of blended in with my skin. But it did look nice and cover up any staining which I like.
I wore 3 coats with one coat of Seche Vite top coat.

Thanks for visiting :)

Catch Up!

Hey guys! I'm so sorry I've been absent this week. It feels weird to not post every day! I've said it in almost every post recently, but the weather here just sucks right now so on the days when I do wear a manicure or want to swatch polishes (which I do have quite a few I need to swatch right now) I just can't take any photos because of the terrible weather.
I have shown a few manicures on Instagram, however. Follow me there for some behind the scenes funsies and manis that I don't always share here. I thought I'd show you some of them today. :) As well as some that may not have been on Instagram. Usually these are more boring manis or colours that I've already shared before.

This is a Mixcoco gel nail polish that I tried recently! I fell in love with it & the concept of gel polish. Beautiful creamy colour. Perfect palate cleanser! I may do a review on the gel polish soon. Let me know if you're interested.

OPI's Every Month is Oktoberfest is one of my favourite dark polishes. It has an amazing glowy shimmer in it which you can see in the flash photo. I don't often wear darks because I just feel like they look strange on me! But for some reason when my nails are round, I like darks? I kept my nails this rounded shape for like, less than 24 hours, FYI. :P I missed my squares too much. I left my right hand rounded, though.

Lime Crime's Milky Ways is a very similar colour to the Mixcoco gel polish I wore! I just think these colours are a nice palate cleanser and are just easy for a quick mani.

My fave neon - China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy! In real life this is super neon and sooo fun! :D Sadly, it chips insanely quickly.

Another neutral. OPI Don't Burst My Bubble is a sheer white with a hint of pink to it. I love this colour, but not so much on me. In this photo it looks fine, but in person it looked a little weird against my skin tone.

That's about all for today! Let me know if you'd like to see these types of posts every so often! Maybe once a month. (By the way, I also now have a Disqus comment system instead of the regular Blogger comment system. It's better IMO because if I reply to a comment, the other person will get a notification email. :))

A Neutral Skitlette

Hey guys! Sorry I had a little unplanned hiatus here for a few days haha. I hadn't done a full mani for an entire week, I was swatching polishes all week but I can't show you them for a few more days so I had nothing else to share! Haha. I did a quick mani yesterday so I'd have something to share today. :)

The other day, Marta from ChitChat Nails posted a how-to post on her famous Skitlette manis! I always adore her skitlettes and her choices are always really awesome so I was inspired to do a skitlette too. :) I'm not sure how well I chose my polishes but I hope you like it anyway, haha.
For my skitlette, I chose 3 polishes I wanted to use. Marta likes to think of it as 'dressing your nails'. Your "shirt" is a design/stamp/pattern, your "pants" are a creme shade, and your "accessories" are a glitter or texture! Instead of doing a design, however I used a glitter. I don't think it looks too over the top, though.
On my thumb and pointer (my "pants"), I've used Essie's Chinchilly. A really nice taupe shade! I don't often wear shades like this but I adore this one! Next to the other brown colours in this mani it looks quite grey but in person it definitely looks more brown toned.
The glitter on my middle and ring fingers (my "shirt" lol) is Femme Fatale Lacquer's (not to be confused with Aussie indie Femme Fatale Cosmetics) Lacey's Pumpkin Spice Latte. I wanted this polish for ages! It's named after Lacey from Lace & Lacquers. :) It's a nude crelly (I can't tell if it's more creamy or more jelly...) base with large brown hex glitters and small orange ones. The larger ones flash orange/bronze too, it's really pretty! I definitely really like this colour. It's neutral but the glitters make it fun.
And lastly on my pinky we have OPI's What Wizardry Is This from the Oz collection. This is my "accessories". :P I've used this polish a few times now and I adore it. This photo was taken after I'd had the polish on for about 20 minutes, so it wasn't 100% dry yet but you can see the texture.

So, I hope you all enjoyed this post! :) and have a great rest of your weekend!

Belle - Disney Princess Nail Art Challenge

Hey ladies! I'm back with the Disney Princess Nail Art challenge. :) I skipped last week because I was meeting up with some other awesome nail polish addicts! ;) I actually did these like, two weeks ago thinking that I was supposed to upload them two weeks ago. LOL. I really loved this manicure, though!
Today's Princess is Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

On all of my nails except my ring finger, is OPI's My Very First Knockwurst topped with All That Glitters Book Smart Beauty which is actually inspired by Belle! It's a clear base with a golden shimmer, rose small glitters and larger gold holographic glitters. I absolutley love this beautiful glitter. ♥

On my ring finger, I've got a base of Revlon Buttercup, stamped using China Glaze Adventure Red-y and BundleMonster plate BM323. Excuse the smudging, that actually happened when I placed the image on my nail rather than with top coat which is what usually happens. I guess I pressed too hard with the stamper!

Now that I think about it, I'm not actually sure if I've seen all of Beauty and the Beast, either... Gosh what was my childhood?! :P

Check out these lovely ladies' Princess manis today! ♥

MCKFresh Nail Attire Labyrinth Collection

Hey guys! I have a new Aussie indie brand to introduce to you today! MCKresh Nail Attire is releasing their first collection tomorrow. The Labyrinth collection is based on the 1986 movie, Labyrinth (obviously, haha). I have seen the movie once about 8 years ago and I don't even think I saw the whole thing so I can't remember much of it and I don't really know the inspiration behind the polishes but I think many of you will understand. :)
I have 4 polishes from this 13 piece collection to show you today.
**Please excuse my skin in these photos - for some reason it looks different in almost every photo lol!**
