Love Month. Day 12: Valentine's Day Lippies.

I'm so sorry that today's post is up super late, again. :( I have tomorrow's post ready to go up at the regular time, though, so I should be back on track now!

Anyway, onto today's post...

I've only started wearing lip colour in the last 8-ish months, but I have acquired quite a little collection if I do say so myself, so I thought today I would show you my favourites, which also happen to be perfect for Valentine's Day! ♥

I don't wear lip colour every time I wear makeup (which isn't often anyway - especially not in this awful hot weather), usually it's only for special occasions. The only type of lip products I really wear are lip balm stains (such as the Revlon Just Kissable Balm Stains), lipsticks and tinted lip balms. I'm not great at applying lip products, so the low maintenance tinted balms are probably my number one pick, for me. I do own a few lip glosses but they aren't my favourite.

I think all of my lip products are from 'drugstore' brands so they will all be fairly accessible and affordable (lolol affordable) for you guys. Most of them I would probably wait until they're on sale, however. 'Drugstore' prices are still pretty insane here.

(Please bear with me, I'm not very good at describing/reviewing makeup products.)

Rimmel London's Kiss of Life is probably my favourite red lipstick of all time. It's a nice blue toned red, and it has a matte sort of finish. This one is from the Kate Moss line for Rimmel.
I love a nice red lip, but I can get a little scared of them. They can be high maintenance if you're going to be eating/drinking, and they usually will need touching up after a little while. This one lasts pretty well through eating and drinking, however!

Available at Priceline - $12.95.

Ulta3's Cherry Wine was actually my first ever lipstick! I only got it a little over a year ago, though. It is super cheap, only $2.95, and I find it to be pretty nice for that price! It's a bit of a brighter red than the one above, and it can also be applied a little sheerer which I like.

Available at Ulta3 online - $2.95.

Granita by Powder Perfect is a nice pink-ish coral. The lippies by Powder Perfect apply so smoothly and they feel really moisturising too. I did a full review here.

Available at Powder Perfect online - $16.50.

My favourite bright pink lipstick is Vivid Rose by Maybelline, from their ColorSensational line. This is a very bright rosy hot pink. Super fun for summer time especially. It's a nice pigmented colour and it feels nice on the lips.

Available at Priceline - $16.95.

The Revlon Lip Butters have been very popular for the past few years (although recently I don't hear that much about them) and I really enjoy them. They're super easy and low maintenance to apply, and there's a great range of colours. I only really buy these when Revlon has a sale, though, because they are pretty darn expensive.
Cherry Tart is my favourite one that I have tried. It's a nice red but it's good for if you want a more subtle look.

Available at Priceline - $21.95.

Please excuse the look of this one. I think a certain someone (*cough* little sis) got to this one and errr, I don't know what she did but it looks like this now and the twist-up mechanism doesn't really work now.
Anwho, Strawberry Shortcake (also a Revlon Lip Butter) is a nice mid-tone pink. It's weird, but I actually feel like these colours are harder for me to wear than a red. Don't ask why, because I don't know. Haha.

Available at Priceline - $21.95.

Maybelline's Colour Whispers are similar to the Revlon Lip Butters. Who Wore it Red-er is the only one that I have tried, but it is quite opaque. It is a pink-y red colour. I find that it is quite moisturising but it doesn't last that long for me.

Available at Priceline - $14.95.

I suppose that this Rimmel Apocolips Lip Lacquer (a.k.a Show Off Lip Lacquer) could have gone in the lipstick category, as it's technically a lipstick. Anywho. Nova is a nice subtle pink colour. My picture is very innacurate (on my screen anyway), sorry about that! :( It's not a candy pink like it looks on my screen. (Michelle @ LabMuffin has a great accurate swatch.)

Available at Priceline - $15.95.

Revlon's Just Kissable Balm Stains are definitely one of my favourite lip products. I love them! They last a long time, and I can usually apply them without a mirror. My favourite colour is Romantic, a nice red, but lately I have been absolutely loving Honey! I forgot to photograph it as it's been in my handbag since I bought it, haha! That is a nice "my lips but better" colour.

Available at Priceline - $17.95.

What are your favourite lip products (not just for V-Day)? I would love to know! ♥
