Born Pretty Store Neon Stud Wheel {Review}

Hi lovelies! Today I have a nail art product to show you from Born Pretty Store that is perfect for summer. We've been experiencing a few days of cooler {but still warm} weather the past few days, and it has been so nice. I love when the weather is sunny and warm, but not hot, in the day time, and then cool, but not too cold, in the evening. Perfect. But we're about to have a heat wave here, so there goes that!
Anyway, let's get into the nail art!

I received this nail wheel including 400 x 2mm neon coloured studs ($4.19 USD) from Born Pretty Store to show you guys. You get purple, green, yellow, orange, blue & pink studs, in both square and round shapes.

I've only used studs on my nails a couple of times, so I definitely would not call myself an expert. You can apply them by picking a stud up with tweezers and placing on your nail while your polish is still wet, and then add a top coat over or around the stud, or you can apply them with nail glue after your polish is dry.
I have tried to apply studs on my nail with top coat before and they only lasted an hour or two before falling off, but I don't have any nail glue handy at the moment so I applied them with top coat for the review. I painted my nails a few different neon colours, and white, to go with the studs. I think they'd also look cool over a black manicure.

The colours I've used are China Glaze That's Shore Bright, Highlight of My Summer, Bottoms Up and Too Yacht to Handle {all from the Sunsational Collection from 2013} and Ulta3 Lily White.

Studded Pink & Gold Leopard

This manicure I'm showing you today is definitely a bit out of my comfort zone, but I've been wearing a lot of manis like that lately! I usually do not wear anything this 'out there' and blingy. Haha. But I really enjoyed it nonetheless. :)

For this manicure I used OPI's Mod About You, one of my favourite baby pinks. This one has a bit more of a purple undertone than other pinks I own, though. I used Alanna Renee's Golden Snitch for the leopard spots and for the base on the accent nail. On the accent nail over Golden Snitch I used Femme Fatale Cosmetics Eventide. I also used a black nail art pen for the leopard print.

On my middle finger, I made a line down the middle of the nail with some gold studs that I purchased from Born Pretty Store. At first I had applied top coat to my nail, and then stuck the studs on while it was still wet. About an hour later I had lost 2 studs and was about to go to bed (and knew the rest would fall off during the night) so I pulled them off and re-stuck them on with some nail glue. That was much more effective and they were actually hard to remove haha.

I've seen a lot of manicures all over the internet featuring studs and leopard print (mostly with nude colours instead of pink, though) so that's what inspired me to do this manicure. :) I don't use studs often - or any other 3D accessories for that matter - so I thought I should pull them out.

Face of Australia Heart of Glass Skitlette

Hey ladies! I have a "Skitlette" from last weekend to show you!

I used one of my new Face of Australia glitter polishes I found on sale at Kmart for 75 cents each (they had a $4 off sale!) CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?! Thanks hanick7101 on Instagram for posting about it! :) (By the way, you should follow her if you aren't already, her nail art rocks!)

I bought 5 from the collection so I'm sure you'll be seeing the rest soon. There's 8 in the collection all together but the other 3 weren't really my style.

(I went back to the Kmart I bought mine from, 3 days later and they were completely sold out lol! I guess everybody jumped on it!)

On my pointer & pinky is the new FOA polish, Heart of Glass. It's a pale pink jelly base with purple, silver and red glitters. It even has some really cute red hearts in it - which were ridiculously hard to get on the nail! :( I got one on each of my pointer fingers but it took a LOT of effort.

It was a little hard to apply. It was quite thick and definitely required some dabbing to get a good amount of glitters on the nail. I used 3 coats.

On my middle nail I used China Glaze Glistening Snow, and OPI Cajun Shrimp on my ring and thumb to accent the red glitter in Heart Of Glass. But now I'm thinking I should've used a purple instead...

I then added a stud to the cuticle on my middle & ring fingers. I actually had to reapply the studs before I took my photos because they fell off. :(

Sorry this post is lacking in photos. I wasn't having luck with lighting etc when trying to photograph this and by the time I got to photograph it, I'd been wearing it for a day and was impatient and ready to remove it haha.

Inspired By Clothing - Aussie Nails Monday

Hi guys! I hope you all had a nice Easter and relaxed today (if you had a day off today). Sorry this post is going up so late. I'd hoped to have it up by sometime in the afternoon but that didn't happen.

Today for Aussie Nails Monday the theme is Inspired By Clothing. Now, I'd say I dress really boringly. In summer, I wear shorts & a tank top almost every day and in winter I wear jeans/trackies and a hoodie almost every day. I like fashion and looking at clothes but none of the 'fashionable' clothes would suit me.
So, needless to say, I wasn't inspired by any of my own clothes. So I went online and started looking at clothes! :)

Ok, in all honesty, I just bought these nail studs from Born Pretty Store recently and really wanted to use them so I looked up studded clothing. ;) LOL.

I used Essie "Mint Candy Apple" for my minty blue base colour, and then topped it with Revlon Colorstay top coat & quickly stuck the studs on before it dried. :) I used tweezers but it was still kinda fiddly trying to stick them on.
I actually had to re-stick one stud on after only 20 mins of having them on. :( I think it was my fault, though.
