Love Month. Day 4: Cutesy V-Day Water Decals.

Valentine's Day is less than 2 weeks away, so I created some cutesy nail art to share with you today. (How poetic of me!)

A super easy way to create nail art is by using water decals, like these ones I have used from Born Pretty Store.

These decals (pattern BLE1774) include pictures of little bird cages, birds, roses and some little quotes that don't really make sense. You get 21 decals for $2.86.

I used China Glaze Something Sweet for my base colour, and Rimmel Aurora from the Space Dust line for the accent nail. These colours are both perfect for a Valentine's Day manicure!

I really love the bird cage decals especially!

If you'd like to know how to apply water decals, I talked about that in this post.

I couldn't resist sharing a close up shot of Rimmel's Aurora.

You can get 10% off your Born Pretty order using the code CAL91. They do free worldwide shipping all the time.

Born Pretty Store Spongebob Squarepants Water Decals Review

Hi my lovelies! I have another great product to show you from Born Pretty Store today! :)
These are the Spongebob Squarepants Water Decals. I reviewed some other nail decals yesterday with a full nail design. You can see that post here. The water decals I'll show you today aren't full nail decals.

**Please excuse the unsightly dreaded shrinkage that my top coat gave me in the cuticle area!! :( I contemplated re-doing these nails because of it but I really liked how they came out otherwise!**

For my base colour I've used 2 coats of Orly's Lemonade, my favourite yellow nail polish.
I found these water decals soo simple to apply. I started by applying 2 coats of my favourite yellow nail polish, Lemonade by Orly and I waited for it to dry. I then cut out one of the decals with scissors and peeled off the clear film. Then hold it with tweezers and dip it into a bowl of water for 20-30 seconds. Very carefully slide the decal off the cardboard backing and place onto your nail. Then wait a few minutes (I probably waited about 10 minutes but you don't need to wait quite that long I don't think) and apply a top coat, and you're done! :)

I found these much easier to apply than the full nail decals, although they were fairly easy too. And I absolutely adore this Spongebob design! So cute! :)
I definitely love water decals now! Super quick and easy way to get adorable nail art.

These decals are only $2.86 and you get 20 little Spongebob face decals. :) Super cheap!

You can get 10% off your Born Pretty Store order with the code CAL91. They also have free worldwide shipping  and a TON more super affordable nail art supplies, polishes, jewellery, phone cases & more!
Thanks for visiting! ♥

Born Pretty Store Water Decal Nail Appliques Review

Hi guys! I have a product from Born Pretty Store to show you today. I'm sure most of you have heard of them before. They sell a whole bunch of nail art supplies, as well as some jewellery and accessories too. Everything on the site is super duper affordable which is what I love the most. :)

Today I'll be showing you these full nail Water Decal Nail Appliques! I actually had no idea that you could get full nail water decals. This design is a super cute dessert/food pattern haha! Kinda funny to put on your nails but I think it's totally adorable!
This packet comes with 12 decals, in different sizes.

I wasn't exactly sure how to use these, to be honest. It was my first time using water decals!
The back of the packet has some vague instructions so I followed those and tried to remember what I'd heard about water decals from other people's posts.
First I made sure my nails were 100% clean. Then I cut the appliques off of the paper backing and trimmed them to fit my nails.  One strip at a time, I held it with tweezers and dunked it into a bowl of water for about 30 seconds. Then I slid the water decal off the cardboard backing and applied to my nail. I used the little file that came with the appliques to remove the excess from the end of my nail. I found them pretty easy to apply, except that there were a LOT of creases! I tried really hard to get rid of them, and then just gave up and left them a bit crinkled. I applied Seche Vite top coat over my nails and that made most of the creases disappear, but I also smudged the design a bit on some nails.

I'm really happy with the end result, though! I think I did pretty well for never having used water decals before. :) And the food design is soo cute haha. They look much better in real life.
The packaging also claims that these will last up to 7 days with top coat so that's pretty cool. I didn't wear these for too long though so I can't comment on the longevity. I definitely recommend that you do use a top coat with these, or they will probably just fall off when you wash your hands or shower.

I definitely want to try some more full nail water decals, they are really cute! :)

These decals are super cheap at $1.99 for a packet! :) (As I'm writing this they are on sale for $1.55!)
