Love Month. Day 13: Sweethearts Duo. ♥ - A Pretty Pots Collaboration.

Today I have something special to share with you. :) I am so insanely excited about it!
A couple of months ago, Jalene from Pretty Pots asked me if I'd like to collaborate with her on a polish duo to celebrate my engagement to Russ! I helped Jalene come up with a concept for both polishes for the duo and they turned out absolutely perfect; just what I was picturing in my mind!
This duo is called the Sweethearts Duo. ♥

A Pretty Perfect Package by Pretty Pots & Powder Perfect {Swatches & Review}

Two Aussie indie makers, Jalene of Pretty Pots and Jacinta of Powder Perfect have collaborated to put together A Pretty Perfect Package, a limited edition sampler pack of 4 polishes including two from each brand! I have all four polishes to show you today, and I can't wait! They are all right up my alley.
I'll start with the two polishes from Pretty Pots.
Paquita is a deep maroon base packed full of pink, red and silver micro-glitters. I loved this one more than I thought I would! It's very sparkly, but vampy and gorgeous. It was perfect in two coats.

Rockstar Rebel is a pale pink base with purple, neon pink, grey and black glitters, including neon pink stars! This polish is right up my alley. As you know, I can't get enough of cute shaped glitter! A very cute and girly shade. I gave my bottle a little shake before I used it to make the stars a little easier to get out. (And I didn't get any bubbling.) This one was also great in two coats, but definitely needs more than one coat of top coat for a smooth finish. So cute!

Now onto the two from Powder Perfect.
Midnight Planning is an amazing deep purple base with lots of circle glitters including blue, purple, silver and pinks. This is a really cool looking polish! It's very packed with glitter, which unfortunately makes it a little difficult to apply. Two coats is enough for an opaque finish, but the glitter does require some dabbing to get it where you want. However, the end result is worth it, in my opinion! :)

Pretending I'm a Mermaid is a gorgeous blue with teal, blue and silver micro-glitters. Oh my. This is an incredible glitter. Quite opaque in just one coat, but you will need 2 for full coverage. SO sparkly. Just love it. ♥

Pretty Pots Nutcracker Trio {Swatches & Review}

Hi guys! I have a Christmas trio from Aussie indie brand Pretty Pots to share with you today! This is their new Nutcracker collection for Christmas.
The Nutcracker was one of Jalene's {the creator of Pretty Pots} favourite Christmas stories, so that's where the inspiration from this collection came from. {Whenever I think of the Nutcracker - my mind goes straight to the Barbie & the Nutcracker movie. LOL - anyone else? Please tell me I'm not alone.}

Without further ado, here are the pretties. :D

Christmas Treats is a white shimmery base with red, green and gold small glitters, plus red and green circle glitters and gold stars. The large glitters in this do require a little fishing, so Jalene included a little baggie of stars and circle glitters to add to the manicure which is really nice. :)
This polish is beautiful, and perfect for Christmas! You guys probably know that I love star {and other shapes - but especially star} glitters, so I adore this polish! :D
The colours in Christmas Treats are made to resemble a Christmas tree.
2 coats + 1 coat of top coat.

Princely is a sheer blue jelly base with gold, red and silver glitters. This is so packed with glitter, so the best application method for these would be to dab the glitter on. I think most people would prefer to layer this over a base colour but I just did two coats alone.
The colours in Princely are inspired by the Toy Soldier in the Nutcracker.
2 dabbed coats + 1 coat of top coat.

Sugar Plum Faerie is a purple tinted base with purple, pink and silver micro glitters. This is another that you may want to layer over a base colour, but I chose to do two coats alone. Next time I would probably do a third.
This baby is super sparkly and gorgeous. The glitters in it are mostly holographic so it really goes crazy in the sun! :D
Sugar Plum Faerie is sparkly to give it a sense of magic.
2 coats + 1 coat of top coat.

Pretty Pots {Swatches & Review - Part 2}

I have the second part of my Pretty Pots swatches to share with you today! :) You can check out part one {here} if you'd like to see the rest.

(Also, please excuse the weird lighting in some of these photos. :( The lighting & my camera were not cooperating! I don't quite know what happened, though... The photos looked fine when I was editing them but as soon as I uploaded them, they looked strange.)

Pretty Pots Midnight Millions

Midnight Millions is a sheer blue jelly base with blue and silver small glitters, and larger gold glitters. This polish is suuuper packed with glitter! It's really dense and full coverage in just 2 coats. I used 2 coats of Midnight Millions + top coat.

Pretty Pots Pink Spring

Pink Spring is a pastel pink shimmery base with small green and purple glitters, as well as slightly larger yellow glitters, and blue butterfly glitters. This polish applied super easily. It'd be perfect for spring time as the name would suggest, too. :) It's really girly. I used 2 coats of Pink Spring with no top coat - it dried fast and shiny on its own. :)

Pretty Pots Poker Queen of Hearts

Poker Queen of Hearts is a sheer brown base with brown, gold, black and red small glitters, and gold and red hearts. This one kind of reminds me of Christmas actually. Like a Reindeer or something, haha! This was ok to apply, but the hearts got a little clumpy sometimes. I used 2 coats of Poker Queen of Hearts + top coat.

Pretty Pots Rosepepper in Sorbet

Rosepepper in Sorbet is a shimmery yellow base with rosy pink small glitters. Another one that is super effortless to apply, it just glides on so nicely and has awesome coverage for a yellow! I used 2 coats of Rosepepper in Sorbet with no top coat because it dried fast and shiny on its own. :)

Pretty Pots Velvet & Rubies

Velvet & Rubies is a burgundy-leaning red jelly base with gold, red and blue micro glitters, as well as some larger glitters in there. This one would be gorgeous in autumn I think! (Or any time of the year if you don't follow the seasons!) Again, very easy to apply and opaque in two coats. I used 2 coats of Velvet & Rubies + top coat.

Pretty Pots {Swatches & Review - Part 1}

Hi guys! I have some swatches from a new Aussie indie brand called Pretty Pots to show you! I have 9 polishes to show you, so I'll be splitting it up into two posts. :)

Pretty Pots Ariel Goes to the Ball

Ariel Goes to the Ball is a clear base with small purple glitters, some gold small glitters, blue diamonds, and white bar glitters.
This might be one of the first times I've ever tried a polish with diamonds in it but I quite like it! The formula was a little thick, and very packed with glitter so you could probably wear this alone with 2 or 3 coats, actually, but I chose to layer it. This was super duper sparkly in the sunlight! I layered 1 coat of Ariel Goes to the Ball over Ulta3 Lilac Bloom + top coat.

Pretty Pots Dolphin Scales

Dolphin Scales is a lilac base with black micro glitter, silver, pink and blue small glitters, as well as some slightly larger white glitters, larger gold glitters and silver moons.
I absolutely love this colour combination of glitters! It's really cute. This one was also very packed with glitter, and it made it a little hard to spread the glitters but not impossible. I used 2 coats of Dolphin Scales + top coat.
Unfortunately I couldn't get a sun pic of this one. :(

Pretty Pots Hippie Green

Hippie Green is a very slightly green tinted base, with green and gold micro glitter, as well as some larger holographic glitters. I don't think the base is pigmented enough to be worn alone so I decided to layer this. It was super easy to apply. I layered 1 coat of Hippie Green over China Glaze Running in Circles. (I think this combo was a bad idea haha, it looked pretty but you can't see it that well, this would look better layered over a creme polish.)

Pretty Pots Hurricane Blurple

Hurricane Blurple is a slightly purple tinted base packed with purple and blue glitters, as well as some scattered holographic diamonds. This reminds me of Halloween for some reason! I'm not usually a fan of this tone of purple in polish (I always feel it looks weird on me) but I really do like this! The formula was a little runny so it's better to do thin coats with this one. I used 2 coats of Hurricane Blurple alone + 1 coat of top coat.

So far I'm loving all the Pretty Pots polishes I've tried! They're very unique to my polish collection. While many of them aren't polishes I'd usually pick for myself, I ended up really enjoying them! :)
