Love Month. Day 5: Wedding Planning Update.
Here is my long-awaited Wedding Planning Update post! I'm so sorry it took so long for me to get this finished. I know there were a few of you waiting for it, so I'm sorry about that. But here it is. :)
Our wedding is just over 2 months away! OH. MY. I really can't believe how quickly it's coming up!
Over the November-December period we put planning on the back burner as we were planning our engagement party, and then Russ moved into the unit we'll be living in, and then there was Christmas and everything so it was so busy.
January 1st marked 100 days until our wedding and we got stuck right into planning because that freaked us out, to be honest lol!
A couple of weeks ago, I designed a save-the-date and we started sending/giving out save-the-dates to our guests! I didn't really "publicize" our exact date online until I was 100% sure it was going to be the date. I made a simpler version of our save-the-date to show you guys! :)

{For you US girls and anywhere else that writes the date with the month first. We write the day first. So the date is the 12th of April, not the 4th of December. Haha, just thought I would clarify that.}
We booked our honeymoon! We are staying here in Australia as we've both never been overseas. And we don't want the stress of having to organize our first overseas holiday as well as wedding planning.
We also picked out our wedding rings! I'm super excited about that! I love the one I chose and I think it matches my engagement ring nicely. We picked them up from the shop last week and I so badly wish I could wear it now, haha. Can't wait to show you guys a picture after the wedding. :)
We started collecting some decorations for the ceremony & reception. I love what we've collected so far and I'm excited to see how it's all going to look together. We are having a backyard wedding so we're going for a bit of a laid back theme. If you check out my wedding boards on my Pinterest (yes - plural... I'm a bit obsessed) you can get an idea of the type of theme we're going for.
Oh and... I picked out my DRESS! :D
I finally went dress shopping a few weeks ago and I picked out my perfect dress. I did wait a bit long to go dress shopping, but I found a dress that I love. ♥
Now I need to find a pair of shoes (I really want to wear sandals) that will go with it... I also found a cute little clutch, and a pair of earrings that go with my dress. I don't really know what the 'norm' is with a clutch for the wedding day (like, who looks after it for the day...? I don't want to hold it all day lol!) though. If you can help me out, please do. Haha.
I feel like a noob when it comes to wedding stuff, to be perfectly honest. I've only been to a few weddings in my life. If you have any tips at all; stuff that I may not know, or think of, please please please let me know. I'd love to have a conversation with you in the comments, or you can tweet me. :)
Oh - I'm also having trouble deciding whether I want to have flowers, or not. Although flowers are obviously gorgeous, I can't help but think they are quite a waste of money because they'll just die. I'm not sure. So I'm looking into bouquet alternatives (for my bridesmaids mainly). I've found some really cute ideas online, but I'd also like to know if you guys have any suggestions! I'd be so grateful.
So, wedding planning is definitely a little stressful. But I am enjoying doing most of the planning myself (with the help of others, including my fiance, of course - I could never actually do it completely alone), and researching different things and finding inspiration.
If you have any questions, comments, or tips, PLEASE leave me a comment (or tweet me)! :) I would really love to talk to you guys about wedding related stuff!

This week. {January 19-25}
Hello friends. :) Hope you're having a nice weekend so far.
This was the last week of my siblings being on summer holidays. It makes me a bit sad, because the summer holidays are always fun even though I'm not in school anymore.

Quite a bit of the week was spent doing wedding planning. I'm pretty happy with how it's coming along now that we're getting stuck into it!
I'm still working on a wedding planning update post. If you've been waiting for it, I'm sorry! It's still coming, I promise!

This week I caught up on The Carrie Diaries, which is becoming one of my favourite TV shows, and I also made a couple of nail polishes (1,2).
I finally purchased the 'Honey' Revlon Just Kissable Balm Stain. I've been hearing about it for ages, and decided I needed to have it. It's a pretty everyday pink colour.
The weather was much nicer this week, compared to the awful heat wave we had last week. But unfortunately, it's going to be stinking hot again next week. So I'm sure I'll have something to say about that in next week's post.

Merry Christmas! {What Santa Brought Me}
Hi guys! I hope those of you who celebrate, had an amazing Christmas Day yesterday, and are having a nice relaxing Boxing Day today {if you have it where you live}. :)
I spent most of my Christmas Day not feeling too good, so I was unable to enjoy all the yummy Christmas goodies. :( But I was happy to be able to at least spend the day with my family.
I wanted to show you guys what I received for Christmas from Santa! ;) {And disclaimer: I'm definitely not trying to brag or show off by showing you what I was given, I just really like to see posts and YouTube videos like this after Christmas, so I thought someone else might like to see mine!}
In recent years, I only asked for a few things for Christmas because there's not much that I want or need, so I just ask for a few things that I'd like to receive, but I never expect to get everything I ask for at all. I also received a few other things from family members etc, but I won't be showing you those.
I'm incredibly thankful for everything I received. :) ♥
Hand/nail set. This set came with some nail tools, including a metal cuticle pusher which I have actually been wanting to try for a while, some hand soap/scrub/lotion, 2 mini nail polishes and 2 nail buffers. I will definitely get some use out of this stuff. ;)
L'oreal EverCreme Hair Products. I asked for some nice hair products for Christmas because I have found that my hair is awfully dry and awful lately {I'm a bit overdue for a cut but I'm trying to grow my hair out for the wedding next year!} so I wanted to try some things to get my hair looking nice again. The products I have here are the Deep Nourishing Masque and the Nourishing Leave-In Spray from the L'oreal EverCreme range so I am really excited to try these because I have heard good things about them!
Mini Coke can. LOL. I actually received 3 of these in my Christmas sack from Santa. I guess he knows I like Coke a little too much. ;) Haha.
Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck perfume. ♥ I am SO excited about this gift! Eek! I have wanted this perfume for a while. My little sister has it and I love the scent so much, and the bottle is GORGEOUS.
I snapped a pic of the gorgeous bottle with my Christmas nails. :) {I will have more details about this manicure up tomorrow so stay tuned for that.}
So I hope you all had a lovely time celebrating Christmas & I hope you ate a ton of food for me who didn't get to enjoy much of it. :P
If you'd like to, let me know in a comment what you received for Christmas because I would love to know! :)

Christmas Time Is Here Tag
I recently saw one of my favourite girls to watch on YouTube, MissHollyBerries, do the Christmas Time Is Here Tag video on her vlog channel, and I thought I would do it too, but just on my blog. :) You can see Holly's video here.
What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
I don't think I can pick just one thing that is my favourite about Christmas. I love it for so many reasons! I love spending the day with my family, I love that my siblings have just finished school for the year, I love the food {I think that has to be what I look forward to most, omg}; this time of year is just a really happy time.
When you were a kid, what did you leave for Santa on Christmas Eve?
Biscuits and milk. Usually Tiny Teddy biscuits if I remember correctly. :P My Grandma also gave us some 'reindeer food' that you sprinkle on the grass outside your house for the reindeer so we did that a few times.
Do you and/or your family have any Christmas traditions?
Not really... I mean, we usually do the same thing every year but I wouldn't particularly call it a tradition.
Ever since I was very young, my siblings & I would wake up very early on Christmas Day. The one day of the year I'll wake up just before or right when the sun comes up. We'd go into each other's bedrooms and open our gifts from Santa, and then get in trouble for getting up too early and waking everyone else up with all the noise. Oops. :D We actually still wake up really early, hehe. Up until I was about 11 or 12, one of my brothers and I would make up a 'Christmas plan' where we would decide whose room we were going to open our presents in, and a strategy so that we wouldn't get caught getting up so early. {This is making me laugh just thinking about it, hahaha.}
Oh! And an actual 'tradition', would be going to look at Christmas lights on Christmas Eve. My siblings still go with my dad every year to do that, but I haven't since I was about 14, I think, because my fiancé and I usually have something on with church, or some other commitment.
When decorating, do you go all out or just do a small amount of decorating?
I'd say a small amount. We have a Christmas tree, and a few little decorations that go around the lounge room, but that's it. When I was younger I had a little desk top Christmas tree that I would keep in my room but I don't have that anymore.
What is your favourite Christmas food?
Ohhhh... ALL OF IT. Haha. Turkey, chicken, potatoes, gravy, mmm... Yummy. I also like this ice cream pudding my Auntie sometimes makes for the kids in my family because none of us have ever liked the traditional Christmas pudding. :P It's like a raspberry ice cream with walnuts and chocolate chips. :)
What is your favourite Christmas movie?
I have a few! I love Elf, though I have to admit I don't find it quite as entertaining as I did when I was younger. I also like The Grinch, Home Alone, The Holiday and The Santa Clause.
What is your favourite Christmas song?
My all time favourite is All I Want For Christmas Is You. ♥ I love the Mariah version, but also the Justin Bieber remix {don't judge}, the Glee version and Megan Nicole's version. I also love Baby It's Cold Outside, and Deck the Rooftop {from Glee}.
What was your favourite gift you ever received?
Hmm, tough one. The first Christmas gift my fiancé ever gave me was the Britney Spears Fantasy perfume, and that is now my number one favourite perfume. I feel kind of sentimental about it, so that's a memorable gift. Nothing other than that comes to mind, really. But all gifts are awesome. :)
What is your favourite Christmas memory?
I have soo many. One that always makes me laugh is when I was 11, on Christmas morning I was opening gifts in my brother's room, and I was sitting on his bed {which was on wheels}, leaning against the wall and I leaned too hard, pushed the bed away from the wall and ended up falling on the floor. :P That's just a funny memory I have. Oh, and the whole Christmas morning 'plan' thing with my brother. That just cracks me up.
Does it snow where you live?
It's summer time right now, but it doesn't snow here even in winter.
Do you own an "ugly holiday sweater"?
No, because Christmas time is summer here so I would probably melt if I put on a sweater. {Though some years have been cool enough on Christmas to wear one.}
Hot chocolate or eggnog?
Hot chocolate. But not on Christmas, because again, it's summer so I will be sipping away on an ice cold Coke, probably. ;) I don't think I've ever tried eggnog either, but I'm 99% sure I wouldn't like it.
Have you ever been kissed under a mistletoe?
Nope. Haha. I've honestly never even seen a mistletoe. :/ Do we even have them here...?
So, that's it for the tag. I hope you enjoyed reading this and I tag all of you to join in & do this tag too. Leave me a comment and let me know if you did the tag so I can check it out. :)
Merry Christmas ♥

My New Camera ♥ {Canon EOS 1000D}
After quite a long time of wishing I could have a DSLR camera, I finally have one. :D I bought a secondhand Canon EOS 1000D and although it's a slightly older model, that doesn't bother me at all because I know they can still take beautiful pictures. The camera arrived today and I was SOOOOO incredibly excited.
With the camera I got two lenses, a 18-55mm and a 75-300mm lens. I'm not a genius when it comes to DSLR photography; actually, I'm a noob so I can't tell you a lot more other than that. :P Although so far, I can tell that the 75-300mm won't be good for nail shots as it zooms in too far, even at the furthest away.
I spent the entire weekend before it arrived reading blogs and watching videos about DSLR photography. I wrote almost 20 pages of information and tips. No joke. LOL. And even then I still don't know that much.
I did learn to use SLR cameras {not DSLR} in grade 9 at school, but I really cannot remember anything I learned. Haha.
Here are some photos I took when I was playing around with the camera. {I did Photoshop them a little.}
So please bear with me while I try to figure out how to get the best pictures with my new camera. :) I might still be using my old camera for a bit {Nikon Coolpix L310} until I'm comfortable with my new one. We'll see. :)
Thanks for visiting. ♥

{Excuse the chipped polish in the photos. :( I had been wearing KBShimmer Myth You Lots for about a day & a half when I took these pictures, and I had a couple chips. :(}

Christmas Wish List 2013
Hi friends! Happy Monday. :D
Christmas is only 3 weeks away! It's coming around very quickly, so today I thought I'd share with you my beauty and nail polish wish list for this Christmas. :)
Christmas is only 3 weeks away! It's coming around very quickly, so today I thought I'd share with you my beauty and nail polish wish list for this Christmas. :)
1 // Perfume
I'm not the type to have more than a couple of perfumes on the go at once. Mainly because I don't really like to buy them for myself and only get them as gifts. At the moment I'm using Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture, which I was given almost 2 years ago for my 19th birthday. I only have the teeniest bit left now, and while it does smell nice, it is expensive and I've become bored of the scent, so I probably wouldn't get it again. I really love fruity, girly scents. I'm not a huge fan of anything too strong, floral or 'grown up'. Haha. {I'm also on the hunt for the perfect wedding day perfume...}
Some perfumes I have my eye on at the moment are:
Fantasy by Britney Spears. This was probably the first 'real' perfume I ever owned. It was the first gift my fiance ever gave me so it has a special place in my heart, and it's probably my favourite scent ever! It also sells for a really affordable price these days.
Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift. My sister has this perfume and I love it. It's really fruity and girly. I've seen this on sale at some chemists recently, which made me want it even more because it was quite expensive at the time my sister got it.

2 // Essie Toggle to the Top
This polish has been very popular for this Holiday season; I've seen a lot of photos of it on Instagram. It's a beautiful deep red with a whole lotta sparkle. It's kind of the deeper sister of Essie's Leading Lady from their Winter collection from 2012. I heard that the formula isn't fabulous on this one, but I don't mind. I can overlook a crappy formula for a beautiful colour like this!

3 // Essie After School Boy Blazer
Another Essie polish! You may not believe it, but I don't own too many Essie colours! After School Boy Blazer is a very deep navy colour that has also been getting quite a bit of hype on YouTube, Instagram and beauty blogs! I've been quite loving darker colours lately and I think this one would be the perfect addition to my Essie collection.

4 // The Body Shop Almond Hand & Nail Cream
I love keeping my hands and nails moisturised at all times, and am always on the look out for new creams and oils to try. I heard about this Almond Hand & Nail Cream from the Body Shop, and heard it was pretty awesome. I'm intrigued and really want to try it, but would probably never buy it for myself because it's a bit pricey in my opinion.
5 // DSLR camera strap
I just got my first DSLR camera and I am so excited to start using it! As with anything I own, I have to make it cute & accessorized. {I love decking out my phone & tablet in cute cases!} I found lots of super cute camera straps and covers for camera straps on Etsy, in lots of cute colours and patterns. :D I would love to decorate my new camera with such cuteness! I love this one from twopinkhearts on Etsy.

ANMonday - Red/Orange/Yellow {Indie Month}
Today's ANMonday theme, continuing on with the Aussie Indie polishes is Red, Orange or Yellow.
I felt a bit 'eh' about this theme because red, orange and yellow are not my favourite colours to wear on my nails, and I don't own many indie polishes in those colours.
But, I was going to an early Christmas picnic for my church yesterday, and thought it would be perfect to pull out a Christmas-y red polish! :)
The red polish I chose to use is Santa's Sunburn by Pretty Serious Cosmetics, from the Christmas Without Snow collection from 2012, which is a beautiful glow-y red foil. This beauty is almost opaque in one coat! I used two of course. ;) This is THE perfect Christmas red! If you don't have it, you need it.
I paired this with Alanna Renee's Golden Snitch from the Magical World collection, because for some reason I can't wear a polish alone. Too boring for me. ;)
I've done a swatch of Golden Snitch alone a few months back, which you can see {here}.

Powder Perfect Home Alone Christmas Collection {Swatches & Review}
Hi guys! Happy Friday. :D
Today I have some polishes from Powder Perfect's new Home Alone Christmas collection! :D The collection is made up of twelve polishes! This collection is based off the 1990 classic movie, Home Alone. I used to love this movie when I was younger!
I have four polishes from the collection to share with you today.
Decorate a Palm Tree is a tree green base with a ton of olive-y green/gold glitters. Some of them are holographic. The formula was a wee bit thick but it didn't make it hard to apply. It's super opaque which is awesome. If you don't add a top coat, it kind of looks & feels like textured polish so you could totally wear it that way if you wanted! This is by far my fave from this collection! ♥
This baby is ultra sparkly! I posted a video on Instagram {here} of ALL THE SPARKLES. :D
2 coats with 2 coats of top coat.
Made My Family Disappear is a special effect topper. It has a gold-ish green shimmer.
To be 100% honest, these types of polishes aren't really my thing. I'm not big on pearl or frost finishes, and while I wouldn't say this is a true frost or pearl, it does lean a bit that way. But the formula was nice. It did end up a little patchy in some areas, however.
1 coat layered over Covergirl's Wine To Five.
Season of Perpetual Hope is an off-white base with gold and red glitters throughout. Nice and easy to apply and no fishing for glitters required.
3 coats with 1 coat of top coat.
Treetops Glisten is a teal green base with gold, silver and lavender glitter. This one was a little runny so don't have too much polish on the brush, or you may flood your cuticles. Otherwise, it was nice! I did have to fish for the large lavender glitters in this one, but that's normal for large glitters.
Different for a Christmas polish but I love it!
2 coats with 1 coat of top coat.
I definitely recommend you check out the Powder Perfect Home Alone collection! :D They are super unique, beautiful polishes for Christmas. The rest of the polishes in this collection also look amazing from other swatches I've seen!
Currently, Powder Perfect only ships within Australia. Sorry to my international readers!

Arcane Lacquer Christmas Reflections Collection {Swatches & Review}
Today I have my first Christmas polishes of the year to show you! :D Christmas is probably my favourite time of the year so when I received these Arcane Lacquer polishes in the mail I was super excited.
Festive Embrace is a gorgeous raspberry red base with green, red, gold, and silver glitters through it. Beautiful and easy to apply. I didn't need to fish for the glitters at all either. This baby is super sparkly!

Frosty Fever is a white base with white, silver and mint green glitters throughout; there's squares as well as shards and hexes. Some of the glitters are iridescent and some are holographic too. This one is quite sheer but builds up well. If you want a fully opaque finish, you would probably be best to layer this over white, though. I really like a slightly sheer finish however. :) Again, no need to fish for glitters.

Midnight Epiphany is a beautiful blue base with blue, silver and black glitters as well as shards. Now, this is gorgeous! I love it. So pretty, super packed with glitter. No fishing required once again. :)

Modern Trimmings is a vibrant tree green base with green, pink, yellow and blue glitters. This one you may want to layer if you don't like the jelly/sheer look. {I think it'd look gorgeous layered over China Glaze Running in Circles!} I didn't expect to love this one as much as I did! It's a beautiful green and so perfect for Christmas. In the shade and indoors, this looked perfectly opaque on its own but as you can see in the sun photo, I probably could have done with one more coat. But anyway it still looks nice with two. :) I did thick-ish coats for this one also.

Twinkling Tinsel is a sparkly gold base with gold, silver, red and green glitters. Some of these are holographic. This is a very yellow-y gold which is very appropriate for Christmas time.

Whimsy Wonderland is a stunning emerald green base with green, red and gold glitters. This is another total beauty! Nice and easy to apply, again!

This collection is going to be awesome for the Christmas season. I think most of them would actually be fine to wear any time of the year, honestly! But especially Christmas time. Every polish is amazingly beautiful. Bec, you did a fabulous job with this collection! :D
This collection will be released on the 17th of November! Be sure to get your hands on these beauties! They are all must-haves! ♥
