Powder Perfect Home Alone Christmas Collection {Swatches & Review}

Hi guys! Happy Friday. :D

Today I have some polishes from Powder Perfect's new Home Alone Christmas collection! :D The collection is made up of twelve polishes! This collection is based off the 1990 classic movie, Home Alone. I used to love this movie when I was younger!
I have four polishes from the collection to share with you today.

{My nail length fluctuates between photos in this post - sorry about that! Haha}

Decorate a Palm Tree is a tree green base with a ton of olive-y green/gold glitters. Some of them are holographic. The formula was a wee bit thick but it didn't make it hard to apply. It's super opaque which is awesome. If you don't add a top coat, it kind of looks & feels like textured polish so you could totally wear it that way if you wanted! This is by far my fave from this collection! ♥
This baby is ultra sparkly! I posted a video on Instagram {here} of ALL THE SPARKLES. :D
2 coats with 2 coats of top coat.

Made My Family Disappear is a special effect topper. It has a gold-ish green shimmer.
To be 100% honest, these types of polishes aren't really my thing. I'm not big on pearl or frost finishes, and while I wouldn't say this is a true frost or pearl, it does lean a bit that way. But the formula was nice. It did end up a little patchy in some areas, however.
1 coat layered over Covergirl's Wine To Five.

Season of Perpetual Hope is an off-white base with gold and red glitters throughout. Nice and easy to apply and no fishing for glitters required.
3 coats with 1 coat of top coat.

Treetops Glisten is a teal green base with gold, silver and lavender glitter. This one was a little runny so don't have too much polish on the brush, or you may flood your cuticles. Otherwise, it was nice! I did have to fish for the large lavender glitters in this one, but that's normal for large glitters.
Different for a Christmas polish but I love it!
2 coats with 1 coat of top coat.

I definitely recommend you check out the Powder Perfect Home Alone collection! :D They are super unique, beautiful polishes for Christmas. The rest of the polishes in this collection also look amazing from other swatches I've seen!

Currently, Powder Perfect only ships within Australia. Sorry to my international readers!

ANMonday - Blue/Green {Indie Month}

Two posts in one day, aren't you lucky?! ;)

I'm back with ANMonday! :D I hadn't participated since August so it's been a fair while! Haha.

As you may know, I was the 'creator' of ANMonday, I suppose you could say, and I was running it for close to a year, but recently found I had no time to run it anymore. I had very little time to blog, let alone run the group which was disappointing but it's okay. I handed the reins over to Theresa from It's All About the Polish and she is doing a great job running it! :)

For the month of November, the theme for ANMonday is Aussie Indie Polishes! It's so cool to have a monthly theme, I really like that idea a lot. So each Monday will be a different colour to use.
I pushed myself to do my best to join in this month because I have a lot of untried Aussie indie polishes, and I also have been severely neglecting them in the past couple months!

For the 4th of November {yes, I know that was yesterday lol. In my defence I had a busy weekend and a busy day yesterday!}, the theme was Blue or Green.

I was a bit lazy for this week's theme but I promise next week I will try and incorporate some nail art into it! For some reason I'm not too good at pairing nail art with indie polishes. Probably because ones like the one I used are already so busy on their own, nail art would ruin it.

Nightsong Grotto by Femme Fatale Cosmetics is a gorgeous teal base that is absolutely packed with glitters including green, blue, teal and pink. It's very dense on its own so I didn't use a base colour.
Just 2 coats of Nightsong Grotto {plus two coats of top coat to smooth it out}.

I also uploaded a swatch in motion to my YouTube channel!

Thanks for visiting! ♥

Emily de Molly Oceanic Forces

Hey guys! Happy weekend! I have a polish to show you that I wore a week ago when I went to meet up with some other polish lovers. :) We had a great day and I came home with many new pretties! (Keep your eye out for those on the blog + more soon! Eep!)

Emily de Molly's Oceanic Forces is like the teal brother (or sister? Maybe a tomboy?) to Cosmic Forces. It's a teal jelly (leaning mostly green) with lots of holographic glitter in different sizes. I cannot get enough of those huge holo dots! :) They're so pretty.
I layered 2 coats of Oceanic Forces over 1 coat of OPI Ski Teal We Drop. But it really didn't need a base colour. I could've easily done 2 coats of Oceanic Forces alone. I actually sort of wished I had, because my nails looked super dark and I'm not a huge fan of dark, almost black nails on myself. :( In the sun it was okay, though. :)
For my top coat I did 1 coat of Essence Gel Look top coat & 1 coat of Seche Vite.

Under any bright lighting my nails looked suuuuuper sparkly. :D But I didn't get a picture of this in the sunlight unfortunately. :(

For Aussies, Emily de Molly polishes are available on the EdM Etsy shop, as well as Femme Fatale Cosmetics. (For anyone international there is a list of international etailers that stock the polishes on the Etsy store description. :))

Are you lucky enough to own one or both (Oceanic or Cosmic Forces) of these sought after indies? :D I'm so happy I was able to snag a bottle of both! They're amazing so if you have the chance, don't think twice about it, you need both of them!

Guest Post: Crystal's Crazy Combos!

Hey there! Today guest post-ing for me is Crystal from Crystal's Crazy Combos! Crystal's swatches have been known to make me *need* polishes many a time! :D I think I've followed her for pretty much the whole time I've been following nail blogs so I am super excited to have her posting for me today!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello Everyone!! My name is Crystal from Crystal's Crazy Combos and I am beyond excited to be here on Ten Little Nubs!!  Elissa is a sweetheart and I am so excited she asked me to guest post today!  She is actually on my blog today, so please make sure to check out her post!
Today, I have a fun mani using two Sinful Colors that I found on sale for $1 each!  I just love a good sale!!! But even not on sale, their normal price point is at $1.99, which I think is a great deal too!  I buy Sinful Colors from my local Walgreen's.
For this mani, I started with 2 coats of Sweet Nothing.
Sweet Nothing is a gorgeous teal/blue cream.  It applied perfectly!  The formula of the Sinful Colors Sugar Rush collection is really great.

I decided to try a glitter gradient!  I have never done anything like this before, so I probably should have looked up a quick how to, but instead I just started with the first coat covering almost all of the nail using Sinful Colors - Lush Life.  I left about 1/4 of the nail without glitter (maybe less).  Lush Life is a gorgeous teal reflective glitter mix.
After I let that dry for a minute, and did another coat about half of the nail.  Once I thought that was dry, I finished with just adding more glitter to the tips.  I actually love how it turned out!  I'll have to try that more often and hope with practice I can get better at this!

Since I've been on a matte kick lately, I added Essie's Matte About You over top.  I LOVE how the matte makes the glitter look!
I also love the look for these two together. For $2 ($4 when not on sale), you could easily achieve this mani to give your nails an elegant look!  I think it's great to find polishes that are of a lower retail because then you can try more than you might otherwise if they were more expensive.

I hope you enjoyed this mani! Another huge thank you to Elissa, for allowing me to visit here today!!  Please make sure to stop by my blog to see Elissa's mani!!  I hope you have a great day!!
Much Love,
Crystal

Thanks so much Crystal for sharing this super pretty mani with us! I just love glitter gradients. ♥ Both Sinful Colors polishes are gorgeous and they look great together!
Be sure to hop over to Crystal's blog to see my post there and make sure to follow her while you're there! :D
