Bridal Nail Polish Picks.

(Alright I totally messed up Love Month. I decided that the schedule was way too much for me to keep up with - I should've known that - so I decided to stop Love Month here.)

I have been posting some bridal nail art ideas recently, but I figured that a lot of brides out there would be more likely to wear a more subtle manicure for their big day.

Here are my top nail polish picks for brides.

If you want something traditional, subtle, feminine, you can go for a classic sheer pink or white. Some of my favourites are all from OPI, including Don't Burst My Bubble, I Theodora You and Don't Touch My Tutu. Or for a more opaque finish, you can go for a rosy nude like My Very First Knockwurst.

If you're on a tight budget, Cotton Candy or Sweet as Candy by Essence are also a nice choice.

If you'd like to add a little bit of sparkle to your mani, some of my favourite glitters are OPI Crown Me Already, which will give you an opaque bling-bling finish, Twinkle Toes from Ulta3 (another great budget buy) is pretty over any colour, or for a glitter gradient, and China Glaze Glistening Snow which would work for an opaque look or glitter gradient.

If you're looking for your something blue I have two recommendations. Essie's Borrowed and Blue is an opaque almost-white baby blue, and obviously perfect for a wedding. Or perhaps you need a colour to go with your Tiffany's ring, if you happen to be so lucky. ;) You can't go past For Audrey from China Glaze. These colours would also make a cute wedding pedicure!

Last but not least, I have a few indie polishes that would make a great wedding day mani.

Pretty Serious Bloody Bride is a unique and different pick, but so incredibly beautiful and would be pretty on anyone.

If you're looking for a little bit of subtle sparkle to go over any colour you choose, you can't go past Fairy Lights by Love Thy Polish.

Another adorable romantic glitter topper that features super cute hearts is Gloss n Sparkle's Hearts Aflutter. This would look very cute as an accent nail over a subtle pink polish.

You may notice that I also showed some of these polishes in my Valentine's Day Polish Picks post a couple weeks ago. They're just perfect romantic shades so that's why! :)

Love Month. Day 3: V-Day Polish Picks.

Hi guys! For the third day of Love Month, I thought I'd share my favourite polishes for Valentine's Day with you. I have quite a few to share, so I'll get right into it!
Pink and red are obviously the most popular colours for Valentine's Day, and I think OPI does pinks and reds the best.

Three of my favourite light pinks from OPI are Mod About You - a very pale, opaque baby pink, Pink Friday - a classic lighter Barbie pink, and Chic From Ears to Tail - another pastel pink, but with a subtle silver shimmer (I only have a mini - I need the full size!).

If you're into a more sheer pink, my favourite is I Theodora You, also from OPI.

If you're into textured polishes, OPI's Liquid Sand in Magazine Cover Mouse is a pretty red with a gold shimmer.
A classic hot pink that I love is Kiss Me On My Tulips. Or if you're more of a lavender girl, you can't go past Lucky Lucky Lavender.

Another beautiful hot pink, with a purple undertone is Flirt by piCture pOlish (appropriate name for V-Day! ;)). This one also has a flawless formula. You can get away with just one coat!

February is summer time here in Aussieland, so I had to include a nice neon pink. My favourite is Bottoms Up by China Glaze. The formula on this one is less than perfect, so it will take a bit of patience, but the end result is awesome.

A classic bright red option is Ever Reddy by Covergirl, from the Outlast Stay Brilliant line. This one is available pretty much everywhere. It has a jelly-ish sort of finish.

For the glitter gals! Ulta3 Disco Fever is a great red glitter that's pretty easy to find, and only $2! It would look cute over any of the light pink polishes I mentioned above, or a red.

Haley Good Lookin' is a pretty rosy pink glitter from Nicole by OPI. NOPI is now available at most Target and Woolworths stores here in Australia, so it's fairly easy to get your hands on, if you come across a well stocked stand! This would go well over any colour, really. It has great coverage with just one coat, also.

If you prefer a purple look, China Glaze's Put a Bow On It from the 2013 Holiday collection is a nice full coverage glitter.

Last but not least, some indie glitter options!
Hearts Aflutter is a cute glitter mix that Gloss n Sparkle released for Valentine's Day last year. It's an assortment of pink, lilac and silver glitters in a clear base. It includes cute shapes like hearts and butterflies also. Ruby Soho by Emily de Molly is a nice red glitter in different sizes that would look pretty over a baby pink. And for the hot pink lovers, Blossom by Love Thy Polish is a great mix of hot pink holographic glitters.

Gloss n Sparkle New Products {Swatches & Review}

Hi guys! I have some new shades from Gloss n Sparkle to share with you today! I haven't had any new Gloss n Sparkle colours in probably close to a year! How crazy is that?! The first indie brand I ever purchased from was Gloss n Sparkle, actually, back in the day when she released her first polish; the Spectraflair Top Coat. :)

Damsel in a Dress is a pink base with purple, pale pink and coral glitters.

Overall, the formula on this polish was nice but I did have to fish for the larger glitters a little and move them around once on the nail. But apart from that, it was great. Super cute & girly colour. :)

2 coats + 1 coat of top coat.

The Lotus Eater is a bright blue base with pink, purple, teal, blue and dark red glitters.

Awesome glitter payoff with this one! Again, a little nudging of the glitters to get them where I wanted was needed. This is such an awesome combination of glitters. Love!

2 coats + 1 coat of top coat.

Tonality is a clear base with black, white, silver holographic, purple , green and blue glitters in various shapes and sizes. I had a little trouble placing the glitters in this on the nail, they wanted to stick together haha. This is a pretty cool topper! You could layer it over practically any colour and get a really awesome look.

1 coat layered over OPI You're Such a Budapest.

Gloss n Sparkle has also recently released some new cuticle care products! They have a cuticle balm, that you can purchase in either a 5g lip balm-like twist-up tube, or in a 10g pot. I have the tube to review for you today (but I also purchased it in the pot form - I like some variety when applying cuticle products haha).

I love using a balm in a stick like this when I'm on-the-go because it's quick and easy to apply and you don't need to be dipping your fingers into a pot.

ANMonday - Pink/Purple {Indie Month}

I'm back with ANMonday! :) Hope you had an awesome weekend!

Sorry I only had two posts up last week, guys. I had a pretty busy week with our engagement party on Friday night and some other busyness! I did paint my nails a few times but just didn't have time to blog them.

As I've said before, posts will probably be less frequent than I used to do for a while {or maybe even indefinitely - which makes be a bit sad} because life is very busy at the moment and will be for the next 5-6 months, but I promise I will be around at least once a week because I do love you guys & I love blogging!

Anyway, today's ANMonday theme is Pink or Purple, and if you missed last week's post, this entire month for ANMonday we are using Aussie indie polishes!

For this manicure I used Pink Posy by Celestial Cosmetics for the base colour on every nail. I reviewed Pink Posy and some other Celestial Cosmetics polishes {here} if you're interested in seeing that. It's a beautiful pink with a subtle linear holographic effect.

I wanted to add a little nail art to this week's ANMonday, because I never pair nail art with indie polishes. Because they're usually so busy on their own that it doesn't need any nail art. But this week I added some small white polka dots. I think it looks cute. :)

On my ring finger I added 2 coats of Hearts Aflutter by Gloss n Sparkle. I feel like I have not worn a Gloss n Sparkle polish in forever, and Gloss n Sparkle was actually the first indie brand I ever tried!

Hearts Aflutter is a clear base, with lots of different shades of pink glitter, as well as some lavender, silver and white. It has shapes in stars, hearts and butterflies but unfortunately I didn't get any hearts on the nail. :(

This polish was originally released for Valentine's Day this year but I believe she re-released it a while back. Anyway, it's unfortunately not available anymore {at least not when I am writing this}, but it seems to be in stock at Femme Fatale Cosmetics if you are interested!

Gloss n Sparkle Edge of the World

Today I have the polish I wore on Mother's Day (May 12th) to show you!

I was originally planning on doing something super sweet and girly for Mother's Day but this polish was calling to me from my untried basket so I just had to wear it. ;)

This is Gloss n Sparkle's Edge of the World. It's a slightly teal-ish green jelly base with blue and green glitters and it has a beautiful holographic shimmer in it too! Unfortunately I struggled to pick up that shimmer in my photos! The morning was beautiful and sunny but by the time I got home in the late afternoon and took my photos, the sun had gone and hidden. :(
I wore 3 coats of Edge of the World.

I can't get over how incredibly gorgeous this polish is. It's so squishy! :D

I hate that Seche Vite seems to shrink jelly polishes more than any other, though. :( It's very frustrating. It's not that visible in these photos but it was pretty bad on my thumb. I'll have to find a new topcoat to use on jelly polishes like this one. If you have any suggestions please let me know. :)

Floral - Aussie Nails Monday

Hi there! Hope you had a lovely weekend. :) Sorry I haven't posted in a few days! All the manicures I've worn in the past 5 days or so I haven't been too happy with so I just didn't feel like posting them.
Anyway, it's Monday again, hey!
Today's theme is Floral. I feel like I cheated a bit this week... :P The nails I've done aren't overly floral.

The pink on my thumb, pointer & pinky is OPI's I Theodora You (from the Oz Soft Shades 2013 collection) topped with Gloss n Sparkle's Spectraflair top coat (I'm not sure if she still sells it - sorry).

On my middle & thumb nail I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White as the base colour. I stamped using a pink polish from MyOnlineShop (they have a LOT of stamping polishes and they're really cheap!) and a floral pattern from Winstonia plate W110 on my middle finger. I placed Born Pretty silver holo hex glitters in the middle of the flowers. And on my ring finger I used a dotting tool with Sinful Colors Black on Black for the polka dots.

I hope this is 'floral' enough. ;)

March Favourites ♥

Hey guys!
Today is the last day of March and for a couple of months on my old blog, I was doing monthly favourites posts. You can see my February Favourites HERE and my January Favourites HERE. I'll be continuing that on this blog so I hope you guys like these types of posts. :)

My blog is of course, primarily about nails but I do like to talk about other stuff once in a while (shocking, I know!). TV Shows / Movies

This month I fell back in love with One Tree Hill. I'd have to say, I think OTH is now my fave show of all time. It used to be The OC but I think I love OTH a teeeeny bit more.

Until this month I'd only seen up until the end of season 8 but I found season 9 on sale for a really good deal so I grabbed it... and watched the whole season in a day and a half. :| lol! It was so so so so good, but so sad too. I'm so sad it's over forever. :( I think I cried in every single episode!
